Washington, June 06, 2010, SPA -- U.S. President Barack Obama on Saturday urged the Senate to quickly confirm his new pick for director of national intelligence, Lt. General James R. Clapper Jr. “He has a quality I prize among all my advisers -- an ability to tell me what we need to know, as opposed to just what we want to hear,” Obama said, standing next to General Clapper in the Rose Garden to announce his selection. If confirmed by the Senate, General Clapper will be the fourth official since 2005 to oversee the nation’s 16 intelligence agencies. --SPA 11:17 LOCAL TIME 08:17 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/789274
