Ljubljana, August 30, SPA --The Slovenian and Croatian foreign ministerssaid today they had made further progress towards resolving theirborder dispute which has hindered Croatia getting European Unionmembership, according to dpa. Croatia's Davor Jandrokovic and Slovenia's Samuel Zbogar saidtheir talks in the Slovenian resort of Bled had discussed "major andserious" cooperation which could result in Slovenia eventuallylifting its objection to Croatian EU membership. "We're going to agree first on what to say, then make a publicstatement," said Zbogar after the meeting, which was also attended bySlovenian Prime Minister Borut Pahor. The long-running border row over a patch of land and access to theAdriatic Sea caused EU member Slovenia to block Croatia's accessiontalks with the EU earlier this year. The row dates back to 1991 when both seceded from then Yugoslavia. The dispute centres on the mutual border at the coastal town of Piranand with it access rights to the Adriatic.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/696589
