The Abha-based Al-Watan said the agreement reached by the Palestinian factions at their meeting held in Cairo as regards forming national unity government constitutes a great step forward, adding that such a great achievement would not have been achieved without the sincere and tireless efforts exerted by those who are keen on unifying the Palestinian ranks. The Egyptian efforts to narrow the gap between Hamas and Fatah have yielded positive results and the Palestinians were able to pick the fruit of these efforts, the daily said. The daily highlighted the unwavering efforts of Riyadh to enable Palestinians restore their usurped rights and establish an independent state in their homeland, said the daily noting that King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has spelled out his feelings in this respect in the message he had sent to President Mubarak of Egypt.
