CAIRO, Feb 25, SPA - The two big Palestinian groups,Fatah and Hamas, met in the Egyptian capital Cairo on Wednesdayto prepare for a national dialogue which could lead to peacetalks with Israel and more reconstruction aid for Gaza. The full dialogue, with about a dozen Palestinian politicalgroups attending, is expected to start on Thursday at a hotel ina northeastern suburb amid signs of an improvement in theatmosphere between Hamas and Fatah, officials said. One sign came when a Hamas lawmaker said Fatah, led byPalestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, had released about 40 Hamasprisoners in the West Bank ahead of the dialogue. "Some 40 political detainees were freed on Tuesday," AymanDaraghmeh of Hamas's Reform and Change bloc told Reuters onWednesday. "We consider this a positive development." --SPA www.spa.gov.sa/638742
