Danish prime minister steps down to lead NATO

COPENHAGEN, April 05, SPA -- Danish Prime Minister Anders FoghRasmussen has resigned in preparation for taking over asleader of NATO. Fogh Rasmussen handed his resignation to Queen Margretheon Sunday, a day after NATO members chose him to replaceJaap de Hoop Scheffer as head of the alliance when theDutchman's tenure ends on July 31. Finance Minister Lars Loekke Rasmussen is widely expectedto replace the 56-year-old center-right leader as thecountry's prime minister, according to a report of Associated Press.
