NEW DELHI, February 02, SPA -- Pakistan seems serious aboutinvestigating the Mumbai attacks and has sought clarificationson a dossier of evidence from India, India's national security advisersaid. "What I am aware of is that after the receipt of the dossierby Pakistan, the Pakistan government have reverted to us andasked a number of questions to which answers have beenprovided," M.K. Narayanan told CNN-IBN television in a weekendinterview quoted by Reuters. "... certainly they appear to be taking things seriouslyand at least they are proceeding in a manner that one wouldexpect an investigative agency to proceed. Asking queries andnot taking everything that is given at the face value that hasbeen given." Narayanan said Pakistan had asked a second set of questionsto which India had yet to reply. "So as far as we are concerned, we believe that Pakistan ismaking an attempt to arrive at the truth. I assume that theyare yet to receive (a) reply to the second set of queries theyhave made," he said. Narayanan's comments came two days after Pakistan's highcommissioner to Britain said Islamabad's investigation into theattacks has shown they were not planned in Pakistan.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/631815
