PRETORIA, South Africa, April 25, SPA -- Final results from South Africa's elections give the long-dominant ANC party a clearvictory but not the two-thirds majority it hoped for, Associated Press reported. Results released Saturday show the African NationalCongress with 65.9 percent of the nearly 18 millions votescast. The party's victory was never in doubt, but it was unclearif it would retain its two-thirds majority in the400-member parliament. The vote tally roughly parallels theseat distribution, but the exact number of seats must stillbe allotted by election officials according to acomplicated formula after the final count is certified.
