BANGKOK, March 21, SPA -- The three-month-old government ofThailand's Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva survived ano-confidence vote Saturday following two days ofopposition attacks in Parliament. Abhisit and five of his Cabinet ministers won bycomfortable margins, with the prime minister tallying246-176 votes with 12 abstentions in the House ofRepresentatives. The opposition Phuea Thai Party, which supports oustedPrime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, initiated theno-confidence motion. «It is a good sign that Thailand's parliamentary systemis fully functioning now.
