Israeli air strike in Gaza Strip leaves four wounded

Gaza, May 20, SPA -- Israeli warplanes struck several targets Tuesday night in the Gaza Strip, wounding five people and severely damaging a number of buildings, medics and witnesses said. The Israeli air strikes on Tuesday night came shortly afterIsraeli Radio reported that two homemade rockets were fired earlieron Tuesday evening at the southern Israeli town of Sderout. Nodamages or casualties were reported, according to a report of DPA. Witnesses said that Israeli jets fired one missile into a car onYafa Street in northern Gaza City, destroying the vehicle. Medicalteams arrived at the scene and took several casualties to Gaza'sShifa Hospital. Hamas security sources said that Israeli air-to-ground missilesstruck a building used as a metal workshop, which was destroyed in a huge explosion that was heard across the area. No casualties were reported. The sources said that Israeli warplanes targeted another metalworkshop Tuesday night in the central Gaza Strip. Severe damage was reported to the building but no injuries. Witnesses reported a fourth air strike south of Gaza City, whereIsraeli aircraft targeted another car, which was destroyed. Palestinian ambulance crews drive casualties from the air strike to a local hospital. The four air strikes followed three earlier Israeli air strikes onborder areas between the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah and Egypt.
