BAGHDAD, February 19, SPA -- The judge has adjourned the trial of anIraqi journalist who threw shoes at then-President GeorgeW. Bush until next month. The trial opened Thursday with dozens of supportersgathered at the court to call Muntadhar al-Zeidi a hero anddemand his release, Associated Press reported. But Judge Abdul-Amir al-Rubaie postponed it until March12, saying the court needs time to ask the Iraqi Cabinetwhether Bush's visit was «formal or informal.» Al-Zeidi has been in custody since the Dec. 14 outburst atBush's joint news conference with Prime Minister Nourial-Maliki. He's charged with assaulting a foreign leader but thedefense says that's too harsh because it carries a maximumpenalty of 15 years imprisonment.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/636996
