BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 04, SPA -- The U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyzstan says talks will continue on keeping a key American air basein the country despite the Kyrgyz president's announcementthat it will close, Associated Press reported. The base in the Central Asian country is a key element insupport for U.S. and international operations inAfghanistan. Kyrgyzstan's president announced Tuesday that the countryhas decided the Manas base must close. But a U.S. Embassy statement Wednesday said the UnitedStates has received no formal notification of the decision. «We have been in discussions with Kyrgyz authorities onthe future of Manas air base.
