The OIC delegation urged Pottering to use his good offices as President of the 785-member EU parliament to help raise the dialogue at the appropriate political level as well as the grass roots constituencies of the politicians to effectively address the issue of the rising trend of religious incitement and intolerance that is affecting the entire global community. The two sides underscored the need to raise awareness of the dangers of incitement and to encourage constructive initiatives that promote tolerance and understanding.
