PARIS, July 07, SPA _ President Nicolas Sarkozy demanded theliberation of a young French academic detained in Iran anddismissed accusations that she was spying as «highfantasy.» Clotilde Reiss, 23, was arrested last week as she wasabout to leave Iran after five months of studying atIsfahan University, and accused of espionage, according tothe French Foreign Ministry. «These accusations of espionage are high fantasy,»Sarkozy said at a news conference with Brazil's presidentin Paris on Tuesday. «Kidnapping and holding Frenchnationals under the pretext of espionage, no one can acceptthis.» Sarkozy said he expects the woman to be released «in ashort time» but gave no details, according to a report of The Associated Press.
