Washington, September 27, SPA -- The State Department on Friday said that American and Pakistani officials are set to meet next week for a strategic partnership meeting in Washington, DC. In a statement released by the State Department, Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte and Pakistani Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi will co-chair the third meeting of the U.S.-Pakistan Strategic Dialogue on Monday, September 29 in Washington, DC. “The Strategic Dialogue is a symbol of our commitment to a stable, broad-based and long-term relationship serving the interests of both the United States and Pakistan, " the statement said. The Strategic Dialogue is made up of seven working groups: education, economic growth, energy, science and technology, and the new agriculture working group. During the meeting, they will work to “develop specific proposals for joint action by the U.S. and Pakistan to achieve our shared objectives,” the statement said.
