Al-Quds city (JERUSALEM), March 01, SPA -- The office of Tony Blair says the Mideast envoy is in the Gaza Strip to discuss reconstruction efforts. It is Blair's first visit to Gaza since he was appointedto present the Mideast peacemaking «quartet» of theUnited States, Russia, the European Union and the UnitedNations in 2007. He is the latest in a number of high-ranking diplomats tovisit Gaza since Israel ended its offensive against theterritory's Hamas rulers in mid-January, according to a report of Associated Press. Blair spokesman Matthew Doyle said the envoy would meetSunday with Gaza community representatives but not withmembers of Hamas.
