HONG KONG, January 18, SPA--About 100 demonstrators have marched through a busy shopping district in Hong Kong to protest Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip, AP reported. Many of the protesters were Muslim domestic workers from the Philippines and Indonesia. Wearing head scarves of different colors, they hung signs on their necks that read, «Stop the massacre. Stop the Genocide» and «Free Gaza, Free Palestine.» More than 1,100 Palestinians have been killed, about half of them civilians, according to Palestinian and U.N. officials. At least 13 Israelis have also died. Israel announced a unilateral cease-fire late Saturday but kept its troops in Gaza, and the Palestinian territory's Hamas rulers have threatened to keep fighting until they leave. --SPA www.spa.gov.sa/627147
