KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 30, SPA -- Malaysian shipping line MISCBerhad said Saturday that another of its tankers has beenhijacked with 41 crew aboard by pirates in the Gulf of Adenoff the coast of Yemen, the second in 10 days, according to ap. Maritime officials said Somali pirates were believed to bebehind the attack, the eighth successful hijacking in thegulf since July 20. The ship, which has 36 Malaysian and five Filipino crew,was sailing within a security corridor patrolled by amultination coalition force when it was seized, it said. «The vessel attempted evasive maneuvering before beingoverpowered by the hijackers. The coalition forces withinthe vicinity were alerted but were unable to prevent thehijacking as safety of the crew onboard is of priority,»the shipping line said in a statement.
