BAGHDAD, May 20, SPA -- An Iraqi military spokesman says Iraqitroops have moved into Baghdad's Sadr City to seize control. Brig. Gen. Qassim al-Moussawi says the troops are enteringSadr City as part of a truce reached last week with cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, whose Mahdi Army militia holds sway in the sprawling district. Al-Moussawi says there has been no violence since thetroops began deploying in parts of Sadr City before dawn onTuesday. Until now, U.S. and Iraqi forces have stayed on the edgesof the eastern Baghdad neighborhood, home to more than 2million people. The fragile truce has been frequentlyshaken by skirmishes with militiamen, the Associated Press reported.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/557601
