GAZA, September 30 (SPA) - Leaders of the Palestinian groups Fatah and Hamas marked the end of the holy month ofRamadan on Tuesday with pledges to seek unity at talks in Cairoin the coming weeks. "We hope the current national dialogue sessions in Cairowill succeed ..., " top Hamas official Ismail Haniyeh was quoted as saying by Reuters. "President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian leadership areexerting great efforts for the success of the dialogue thatEgypt is holding," his spokesman Nabil Abu Rdainah said. A deal in Cairo would pave the way to "comprehensivenational dialogue that will be followed by a meeting of Arabforeign ministers", he added. Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman conducted separatetalks with the two sides throughout September. He met Fatah lastweek and will see Hamas officials on Oct 8.
