COLOMBO, Sri Lanka, September 29, SPA -- Heavy fighting in Sri Lanka'sintensifying civil war killed 20 Tamil Tiger rebels and onesoldier, the military said Monday. In new fighting Sunday, troops captured part of astrategic road in the Kilinochchi district after aseven-hour battle that killed seven rebels and one soldier,the military said in a statement. Attacks on rebel bunkers and other scattered fightingkilled 11 rebels in the Welioya, Jaffna and Vavuniyadistricts, it said.
