United Nations, December 10, SPA -- A high-level U.S. panel on preventing genocide said Tuesday it expects President-elect Barack Obama to support its call for a $250 million fund to back emergency actions in high-risk countries. The Genocide Prevention Task Force, co-chaired by former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and former Defense Secretary William Cohen, issued a report calling for genocide prevention to be a top priority when the Obama administration takes office January 20. Albright told reporters at the United Nations on Tuesday that the United States should lead the way in taking responsibility to prevent mass atrocities and genocide wherever they may occur.--MORE www.spa.gov.sa/615381
