MOGADISHU, December 06, SPA --The Islamist insurgentgroup al Shabaab has taken control of a central Somali tradingtown after fighting that killed at least 13 people and woundeddozens of others, residents said on Saturday, Reuters reported. The capture of Gurael, 370 km (230 miles) north of thecapital Mogadishu, adds to the growing hold al Shabaab hasgained across south and central Somalia in a two-year insurgencyagainst the government and its Ethiopian military allies.
