Nairobi/Goma, November 07, SPA -- Forces of rebel general Laurent Nkunda weresuspected in a massacre of dozens of young men in the eastern Congotown of Kiwanja, BBC reported Friday morning. BBC said the United Nations was looking into reports, coming afterthe rebel forces recaptured the town which pro-government Mai-Maimilitias had briefly taken control of. The report cited relief organization workers as saying that theyfound dozens of corpses of young men believed to have been Mai-Maifighters, in the town. Meanwhile the aid organization Save the Children reported amassive rise in forced recruitment of child soldiers amid the heavyfighting in eastern Congo, according to a report of DPA. Especially worrisome was that in at least two cases, schools wereattacked as armed groups sought to capture as many children aspossible, a spokeswoman for the organization said. The UN was set to hold a crisis summit in the Kenyan capitalNairobi on Friday in a new attempt to seek a political solution tothe conflict.
