United Nations, September 24, SPA -- United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon warned Tuesday that nations are increasingly looking inward and turning away from global partnerships in an address before the 63rd General Assembly. Now is not the time to retreat, Ban said, as the world faces global financial, food and energy crises. “In this new world, our challenges are increasingly those of collaboration rather than confrontation,” Ban said. “I see a danger of retreating from the progress we have made, particularly in the realm of development and more equitably sharing the fruits of global growth.”--MORE www.spa.gov.sa/592939
