BANGKOK, Thailand, September 14, SPA -- Thailand's acting prime ministerlifted a state of emergency in Bangkok on Sunday, urgingall sides in a political crisis to find a peaceful, compromise and restore the country's image as «The Land of Smiles.» Acting Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat said he hoped thatending the state of emergency, which was imposed Sept. 2,would ease some of the tensions in Thailand and entice moretourists back to the country, according to a report of the Associated Press. «The state of emergency is lifted,» Somchai said aftermeeting with the army chief and other senior securityofficials. --SPA www.spa.gov.sa/589958
