Tehran, Aug 30, SPA -- Hassan Kashkawi, the spokesman for the Iranian foreign ministry, said the relations of Iran with the neighboring countries are based on the principles of good understanding and non-intervention in the domestic affairs. In a statement carried by the Iranian news agency today, he noted that in the recent years bilateral steps were taken within the framework of developing relations between Iran and the neighboring countries. He added that the meetings held between the Iranian officials and their counterparts in the neighboring countries have provided a clear evidence for the fostering relations. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) constitutes the biggest trade partner of Iran in the region, he notedKashkawi said Iran has been exchanging views and visits with the GCC member states for further enhancing the stability and security and tackling the Middle East problems including the problems of Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/585929
