Tehran signals willingness to talk to next US administration

Tehran, May 18, SPA -- Tehran on Sunday once again signaled itswillingness to have talks with the next United States administrationafter the presidential elections, DPA reported. While doubting talks could take place with the currentadministration, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said thatIran might hold talks with Washington following the presidentialelections later this year. "There will be no talks with the US for the time being but let'ssee on what basis the US policies would be in the future," ISNA newsagency quoted Mottaki as saying. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad last Tuesday said that Iranwould be willing to talk to the new US president within a debate. Ahmadinejad's previous efforts to hold talks with currentPresident George W Bush has twice been rejected by the White House.
