KABUL, Afghanistan, April 29, SPA -- Afghanistan's intelligence chief says he warned President Hamid Karzai of the weekendassassination plot against him. Amrullah Saleh told Parliament on Monday that the plot tokill Karzai was hatched last month and the gunmen hadrented the room they opened fire from 45 days before theattack. Karzai and other dignitaries escaped unharmed fromSunday's assault launched during a ceremony in Kabul. Taliban claimed responsibility. Three people died.
