BAGHDAD, June 10, SPA -- The head of Saddam Hussein's tribal clan was killed Tuesday by a bomb that had been planted on hiscar, Iraqi police said. Sheikh Ali al-Nida was chief of Iraq's al-Bu Nasir tribe, alarge Arab clan of about 20,000 members, includingSaddam's family. He was 65. As the head of clan, al-Nida received Saddam's body afterhis 2006 execution, and arranged the former dictator'sfuneral. Al-Nida and one of his guards died when the bomb that hadbeen glued to the undercarriage of his car exploded as theydrove through the Wadi Shishain area of Tikrit, a mostlySunni Arab city about 80 miles (130 kilometers) north ofBaghdad, an officer was quoted as saying by the Associated Press.
