KABUL, Afghanistan, May 21, SPA -- Officials say violence inAfghanistan has left 18 dead, including two NATO soldiersand 14 insurgents. A NATO statement Wednesday said an explosion killed asoldier and civilian interpreter on patrol in easternGhazni province. Two NATO soldiers were wounded, one ofwhom later died at a military hospital. The statement gave no details on the victims'nationalities or the nature of the explosion, the Associated Press reported. In neighboring Zabul province, deputy governor Gulab ShahAlikhel says air strikes and a three-hour gunbattle Tuesdaykilled an Afghan army soldier and 14 insurgents.
