Malta's ruling Nationalists claim victory in election, Labor refuses to concede

VALLETTA, Malta, March 10 , SPA -- Malta's election commissionconfirms the island's long-ruling Nationalist Party hasnarrowly won a parliamentary election, AP reported. The Nationalist Party claimed victory in Saturday's vote,citing party's projection based on early vote count. Butthe Labor Party, which had hoped for a return to powerafter a decade, refused to concede, saying it was waitingfor more official returns to come in. Election officials say Monday that the vote count, stillnot final, confirms victory for the Nationalist Party bysome 1,500 votes.
