Berlin, Jan 24, SPA -- Germany is providing an additional one million euros (1.4 million dollars) to aid organizations active in Afghanistan to counter the hardest winter there in more than a decade, DPA quoted the Foreign Ministry as announcing here today. The money brings to 168 million euros the funds provided by Germany for humanitarian aid and mine clearance since 2001. The German Foreign Ministry said the new money was intended for urgent life-saving operations.
