YANGON, Myanmar, May 27, SPA -- Myanmar's military government hasrenewed the detention of pro-democracy leader Aung San SuuKyi, the Associated Press reported. A government official said that Suu Kyi's detention wasofficially extended Tuesday afternoon. It was not immediately clear if the extension was for sixmonths or one year. The extension became official when shewas informed of it. Suu Kyi has been in detention continuously since May 2003,most of the time under house arrest.
