Kandahar provincial police chief Sayed Agha Saqib saysmilitants attacked and killed four police eradicating afield of poppies in Maiwand. Saturday's attack was at leastthe third time militants have killed police on eradicationteams in the last month. Gereshk district police chief Khair Uddin Shuja saysTaliban fighters ambushed a police vehicle overnight andkilled four officers and wounded seven in neighboringHelmand.
