SRINAGAR, India, August 23, SPA -- An Indian army officerand five separatists were among eight people killedin a fierce gun battle raging near the border with Pakistan inIndian part of Kashmir, the army said on Saturday. The clash, one of the deadliest in recent months, broke outon Friday morning at Machil near the Line of Control, amilitary control line that divides Kashmir between India andPakistan, Reuters reported.
