Pakistan: Bhutto party says PM candidate to be named next week

ISLAMABAD, March 15 , SPA -- After winning Pakistan'sparliamentary elections last month, the party of assasinated opposition leader Benazir Bhutto will name a new prime minister next week, ap quoted a spokesman as saying Saturday. Her Pakistan People's Party has pledged to form acoalition government with the party of another formerpremier, Nawaz Sharif, after the new parliament convenesMonday. With the largest number of seats, it falls to the PPP toname a prime minister. On Saturday, party spokesmanFarhatullah Babar said a decision was imminent. «Our party will come up with a name next week,» Babartold The Associated Press. Parliament would then have to confirm the nomination.
