New Delhi The Ambassador pointed out that a just and comprehensive peace in the region can only be achieved through full Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Palestinian and Arab territories in addition to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty over the Palestinian territories as well as finding a just solution to the problem of Palestinian refugees. "The international community is required to exert pressure on Israel to accept the Arab peace initiative and end the sufferings of the Palestinian people on the basis of the principle of land for peace," he said. The ambassador praised India's principled stand that supports the Palestinian cause as well as the restoration of the usurped Palestinian rights, pointing out that India can play an important supportive role in the international efforts aimed at achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.
