BEIJING, China, December 21, SPA -- Anti-terrorism drills for troops from China and India will build trust between the two countries, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said Thursday, adding that a decades-old border dispute will not dampen efforts to improve ties. The joint war games were the first ever for ground troops from the two countries, CNN reported. About 100 soldiers from each side were participating in the nine-day drill, which began in southwest China's Yunnan province on Wednesday. "The joint training ... is to increase the mutual understanding and trust between the two countries, especially the two militaries," Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said. "China and India are important neighbors and are the two biggest developing countries in the world." --SPA www.spa.gov.sa/511209
