ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, March 19, SPA -- Pakistan's new lawmakers have elected the country's first-ever female speaker ofparliament. The outgoing speaker of the National Assembly announcedthat Fehmida Mirza easily won Wednesday's ballot. Mirza is a businesswoman and medical doctor who has beenelected to parliament three times.
