TOKYO , March 05 , SPA -- A man carrying a protest letter to PrimeMinister Yasuo Fukuda fatally shot himself in the headWednesday in front of Japan's parliament building, ap quoted police sources as saying. The man, who appeared to be in his 60s, got out of a taxiin front of the south gate of the parliament building andfired the gun, according to local police official HiromuKawaguchi. He was later confirmed dead at a hospital, an official ofthe Tokyo Metropolitan Police said. Media reports said that the man was a right-wing activist. Police were checking his identity, said the secondofficial, who spoke on condition of anonymity, citingpolicy.
