Morocco ends diplomatic crisis with Spain

Rabat, January 07, SPA -- Morocco announced the return of its ambassador toSpain on Monday, ending a two-month diplomatic crisis, according to dpa. Ambassador Omar Azziman was returning to Madrid following thevisit to Morocco by Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinoson Thursday, the Foreign Ministry announced in Rabat. The ambassador had been called for consultations on November 5over the visit of Spain's King Juan Carlos to the Spanish enclaves ofCeuta and Melilla on the north African coast, which Morocco claims asits own. Spain has sought to repair the relations, with Moratinos handinghis Moroccan counterpart a letter stressing the importance of Moroccofor Spain. The Spanish government saw Juan Carlos' first visit as king toCeuta and Melilla as long overdue, but Morocco regarded it as aprovocation.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/515574
