Iran, Russia to increase trade exchanges to US$ 200 Billion

Tehran, October 17, SPA -- Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin agreed here on Tuesday to increase bilateral trade and economic exchanges to US $ 200 billion by the next decade. The agreement was made by the two presidents in their second meeting Tuesday evening, news agency IRNA reported. During the meeting, President Putin voiced his country's determination to complete Bushehr power plant and to supply its fuel. Referring to Putin's visit to Tehran as a milestone in the two countries bilateral relations, Ahmadinejad stressed that expansion of Tehran-Moscow cooperation particularly in the area of energy would guarantee the two countries political and economic interests. President Putin reiterated that promotion of Iran-Russia relations would help establish global peace and stability. He further voiced his country's readiness to make joint investments with Iran in the areas of oil and gas. On completion of Bushehr nuclear power plant, he stressed that Moscow will not be influenced by diplomatic pressures by the West and therefore will complete the plan.
