Seoul, March 25, SPA -- South Korean Foreign Minister Yu Myung Hwan said Tuesday he would discuss ways of resuming six-party talks on ending North Korea's nuclear weapons programme with his US counterpart Condoleezza Rice this week. He would also visit the US to prepare for the meeting betweenSouth Korea's president Lee Myung Bak and US President George W Bush slated for April 18-19 at the Camp David presidential retreat, Yu told reporters before leaving for Washington. "I plan to have consultations on various ways to resume thesix-way talks at an early date," he was quoted as saying by thenational Yonhap news agency. Consultations among the concerned countries aimed at maintaining momentum in the nuclear talks, are underway and his trip to Beijing last week has been also part of it, he said. Yu also plans to meet with US Secretary of Defense Robert Gatesand National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley Thursday to exchange ideas on bolstering the alliance between the two countries. --SPA www.spa.gov.sa/539732
