ISLAMABAD, FEB 20, SPA -- Demanding resignation of President Pervez Musharraf after Monday s election results did not hold any ground as he has already been elected by the parliament, a presidential spokesman said. Spokesman Maj-Gen (retd) Rashid Qureshi said former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif s demand for resignation of Musharraf is thinking of an individual. Sharif has stated it without thinking of what he wants to say and I would not like to comment. It is only aimed at creating some fiction, Qureshi said. The spokesman said Musharraf was elected with 67 percent vote by the national and provincial assemblies. It should be clear that these were not the elections for the President. Musharraf, Qureshi added, had already stated that he would have no problems working with any individual elected by the people.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/528739
