ISLAMABAD, JAN 13, SPA -- The U.S. government has no concerns over the security of Pakistan s nuclear assets, rather, it is a section of the media that is engaged in baseless propaganda in this regard, Pakistan Foreign Office Spokesman Muhammad Sadiq says. The US government has no concerns. They have said this publicly, the deputy spokesman of the White House said this, the US Embassy in Islamabad has issued a release on that, I believe, and the US government at the highest level has said that they have no concerns, they never had a concern, Sadiq said. He said a section of the media had not accepted the fact that Pakistan being a developing Muslim state had acquired nuclear weapons. That s a reality, which would probably take some time before it sinks in their psyche and before they accept Pakistan as a nuclear state, he added. About the visit of US Senator Lieberman and three other US congressmen to the Strategic Planning Division (SPD) of Pakistan, the spokesman said those meetings took place but it was not because they were concerned.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/517199
