BAGHDAD, December 14, SPA -- An American soldier was shot to death in an attack in southern Baghdad, the military said Friday. The U.S. statement said the name of the Multi-NationalDivision-Baghdad soldier, who died Thursday, was beingwithheld until family could be notified. At least 3,890 members of the U.S. military have diedsince the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003,according to an Associated Press count. The figure includeseight military civilians.
