A batch of Pakistani troops leaves for Ivory Coast

ISLAMABAD, OCT 11, SPA -- A batch of 300 Pakistani troops has left for Ivory Coast to join United Nations Peacekeeping mission there, said an official statement. These troops will replace another Pakistan Army contingent deployed in the war-ravaged country as a part of relieve schedule. Bidding the troops adieu, Brigadier Raza Zafeer said the Pakistan Army troops have given their blood and sweat for the UN efforts for the restoration of peace in the troubled regions of the world. He said over a hundred of Pak Army troops have embraced martyrdom for this noble cause in strife stricken countries like Somalia, Eastern Slovenia, Bosnia, Haiti, East Timor, Liberia, Congo, Sierra Leone, Burundi and Sudan.
