Europe STRASBOURG, Oct 4, SPA -- Iran's parliament speakercanceled a planned speech to the Council of Europe onThursday, protesting the fact that members of an oppositionIranian movement had been invited to address the humanrights watchdog earlier this week, AP quoted an official as saying. Maryam Rajavi, head of The National Council of Resistance_ the Paris-based political wing of the People's MujahedeenOrganization of Iran _ spoke Monday to parliamentariansfrom the Council's 47-member states. Iranian Parliament Speaker Gholam Ali Haddad Adel was toaddress the Council's parliamentary assembly in his role aspresident of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, but wasreplaced by the Indonesian parliament speaker, the Councilsaid.
