BAGHDAD, June 30, SPA -- A suicide bomber exploded himself in a crowd of police recruits Saturday in a market area northeast of Baghdad, killing at least 16 people, police said. The bomber detonated his explosives belt in a market area outside a police station in Muqdadiyah, 90 kilometers (60 miles) north of the Iraqi capital, a police officer said oncondition of anonymity because he was not authorized torelease the information.
