Top Kashmir militant killed by Indian security forces

Srinagar, Kashmir, September 24, SPA -- A top leader of the Muslim Al-Barq group was killed on Monday by Indian police in the country's northern state of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said. Abu Haider, the chief operational commander of the group, was shot dead by the police in a gunbattle in the Shiva-Sopore area in the Baramulla district, located 60 kilometreswest of state capital Srinagar. "The police shot dead Haider, one of the most wanted militants inKashmir in the shootout.
